Join us to visit Delightful Dahlias, a family farm bursting with dahlias of seemingly infinite variety. We’ll take a tour of the dahlia gardens with Shirlene Moser, followed by a light lunch prepared by Delightful Dahlias, and a crafting session at which you can select dahlias from the farm gardens and create your own arrangement to take home.
Brightly colored dahlias are relatives of the sunflower, daisy, chrysanthemum, and zinnia. The dozens of species range from 12 inches to more than 6–8 feet tall, with flower heads as small as two inches in diameter and as large as one foot. Dahlias typically bloom from mid-late summer through the first frost.
Parking is limited at the farm, so we will be carpooling for the thirty-minute ride from College Hill to the farm.
The cost for Village members and their guests is $20 per person, to be paid on arrival. All proceeds are donated by Delightful Dahlias to the local food bank.
